A Little About me....
Im currently living in the United Kingdom, studying Computer Games Art at the University Of Teesside. As you can probably already guess, computer games played a big role into my artistic spark as a young child. I remember sitting down and thinking up weird and wonderful worlds in which my make believe characters would inhabit, and as with any obsession this grew stronger as the years went by.
Sci-Fi, and fantasy movies also helped me to expand my imagination, but I think the most strongest inspiration by far was my father Robert Donaldson. I still consider him to this day as one of the most talented artists ive known. If it was not for him moaning about how I should learn anatomy and keep drawing I don’t think I would be where I am today in terms of skill.
There was a time in my late teens where I was more determined to make money then work on my artwork. That was probably the worst mistake ive made! Those three or so years working in factory’s made me realize just how much art was a part of my life, sure I was making money working in factory’s, but I felt dead inside and it was only until after I decided I want to make art as my career in life that I began to feel more alive then ever!
Grabbing up a Wacom tablet I began to explore the world of digital art, and haven’t looked back since! Painting up works of art through the means of imagination and technology was something I had been searching for.
In my spare time for the past six months ive started up DarkEdge Studios, a non profit organization to hopefully revive the ways RPG games used to be. The Omega Project RPG is currently in the post production phase and should be something special once we release it some time in the future.
In the long run, im hoping to make a career in the concept art world of computer games or movies. It would be my ultimate dream to lend my imagination to these entertainment industries.
Im currently living with my very supportive girlfriend and working intensely on my artwork, more then I ever have before and loving every second of it!
Thanks for reading!
