Description

Heres a piece i did around 3-4 months ago on the indie game project Cryosis-Vayus Wake. I had the job of creating the main character as you can see here. The game is still in production and in its early stages but is looking promising from what ive seen and the people ive worked with.

Vayu is a bio-mechanoid, very advanced. This is what he looks like when hes pissed in the game, the indented lines in his flesh begin to glow and then fire erupts out of his vent like scalp as he 'overheats' into rage mode! The main focus was to make him look pretty damn solid and someone you wouldent want to fuck with. I hope i pulled it off

The character is pretty cool, but the background is kinda too blurry and a bit too bright near his legs, so it distracts from the character a bit.

I think i could take him, one swift hit to the nuts, and he's out of there. I like the image, the glowing lines is pretty cool, is the smoke coming o ut of his body or his shoulders? Looks like its coming out of his sholders, if the flames vent from his scalp why are they coming out of the sholders? Im curious why the clounds in behind him going from blurry to sharp as you go further back. I really like the character, pretty cool game it seems, at least with a bad ass main character, does he have ne cool one liners?

Cute haircut)))I like the concept of clothe and weapon. Weired chose of colours..and I'd like to see more of the red at his skin. Nice anatomy and his feet're nicely hidden

- is it the prob of painting feet? or it's just your choice? - didn't mean to be mean, but it's my allways prob to paint feet..

yeah like i said the fire was a last minuete decision. When your creating characters for game the bosses tend to like the character unlit by the surrounding lighting...as it was at the beginning as when the modeller will go and model this guy he wants to see the actuall colours of his skin and some times they get confused by the lighting on the skin and think its meant to be there on the character if that makes sence.

I really like the fissures in his skin, very nice touch. I presume the glowing coming from those fissures are his internal fire hence the smoke on his shoulders? Cool character. Agree that the background focus looks the wrong way around.

Andy, yeah the glowing lines in his body glow furiously when hes pissed at something. His head ignites like a computer thats overheated and goes crazy.

Excellent anatomy and the colours give it a great impact

I used to do the hide the feet thing (I still avoid doing the bloody things if I can).

This is great cover art...crisp clean lines, bright but well balanced colour scheme and an intriguing character..all very eye catching...I think this is one of the best Ive seen from you, sure you've shown more original work before, but this one just ticks all the boxes and hit's all it's targets.

Lets hope the product lives up to this.

Oh yeah...and I really like his weapon...elegant but very practical looking...nice.
