Description

By 2011, many people had moved to this island, in the thousands. Most of the people had settled into little towns, the biggest of which, was the “Central City”. The city was a fairly calm place, most of the people were just trying to live there lives. Not long after that, a kid was wandering around near the edge of the city, there, was a small cave entrance with a little stream running through it, the kid found a sparkling rock, he picked it up. And ran back to his house to show his mom what a pretty rock he found. Little did he know, that it was gold.

Longer then ussiall spent on this one...
Total Time Taken Timed at : 155mins

Anyway, enjoy!

Wonderful atmosphere, good speedpaint! There are some little elements that disturbs me though : the orange plants are too vivid IMO. The tree trunk (?) in the foreground seems to be floating.
The depth is very well rendered!

Thanks Diane, im glad you like it. :) The tree trunk is meant to be like a walkway so yuo could tip toe across it like a mini bridge over the river. Hard to see i know :) i found it a good challange to paint all this with the time i set myself.

The log stretching into the background, doesnt fit, looks like its floating, other than that this is a great speedpaint!

I love the depth this composition holds. For 155 minutes this is amazing.

This is a really awesome piece - i love the depth and the cavernous feel that you have created. The tree / bridge looks fine to me up 'till the far end - it just kinda needs to be more obvious that it's resting on the bank on the other side.

I already commented on this first time around… (looks up :p)
I stand by what I said there – the only other thing I’d add now though is that some of the textures look a little flat – they don’t seem to wrap around the objects but look flat somehow. That might just be stylistic intent though! Incidentally I do like the very vibrant splashes of colour that appear running through the image – they add to the sense of depth and the idea that sunlight is breaking through in small isolated areas.

i absolutely love this, the mood is really overpowering! i especially love the orange plants, they really lift the painting to a higher level, but i think the last group of those plants, the ones furthest in the background of the image stand out too much to look 'realistic'. the moss is great, the trees likewise..nothing else to say about this except well done
